Board of Selectmen Agenda 05/10/2005


May 10, 2005
Chairman Raymond W. Platt called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 6:05pm.

Present were Raymond W. Platt, John M. Donahue and Donald L. McKinnon.

Mr. Platt motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to accept the minutes of the May 3, 2005 meeting.
Mr. Donahue made it unanimous.

Chief King was present and requested the approval to transfer for FY04 a total of $32,000 from the Communications Clerks Account to the Police Wage Account for overage.  Mr. Platt motioned and
Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the transfer of $32,000 from the Communications Clerks Account to the Police Wage Account.  Mr. Donahue made it unanimous. Chief King said the Finance committee had been asked to approve the transfer as well.

Mr. Platt updated all with information regarding a meeting with the City of Taunton and Raynham regarding the IMA.

Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.

Mr. Buckner requested the Board’s approval for a plan to permanently bond the Merrill and LaLiberte School projects.  Mr. Platt motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to combine the Merrill School and LaLiberte School and bond them this year. The State portion of the LaLiberte School would have to be BANed for one year pending reimbursement.  Mr. Donahue made it unanimous.

Mr. Platt said that the Taunton Gazette listed the Public Hearing for Papa Gino’s to be held at 7:15pm on May 17, 1005.  Mr. Platt motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to change the Public Hearing for Papa Gino’s to 7:15pm.  Mr. Donahue made it unanimous.

Mr. Donahue reminded all of the Planning Board meeting Thursday night.

Mr. McKinnon informed all that the Senior Health Fair would be held on May 19, 2005.

Mr. Platt informed all that a check in the amount of $2,000 was received from the Rt. 44 auto mile dealers for the Raynham Fire Department Ladder Truck.
Mr. Platt requested correspondence to be forwarded to Hampton Inn welcoming them to Raynham and a reminder that the Room Occupancy Tax must be paid to the Town of Raynham.

Mr. Donahue reminded all that the Fishing Derby would be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Board of Assessors information pertaining to the start of their inspection program, which includes home interior inspections.

Correspondence – The Board received an invitation to graduation ceremonies at the Bristol County Agricultural School, Class of 2005.

Correspondence – Taunton High School Class of 2007 requested to hold a car wash on May 29, 2005.
Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to approve the request pending approval from the Water District.  Mr. Donahue made it unanimous.

Correspondence - The Board received from the Town of Kingston a request to join with them in endorsing an amendment to Chapter 40B which would allow mobile homes to count as affordable units.
The Board was very much in favor as have been our Legislators.

Correspondence – The Board received notice of a contract for paper supplies in the amount of $1,085.75.  Mr. Buckner recommended awarding the contract to W.B. Mason.  Mr. Platt motioned and
Mr. McKinnon seconded to award the contract for paper supplies to Mason's.  Mr. Donahue made it unanimous.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Bristol County Mosquito Control information regarding spraying.

Correspondence - The Board received from Jim Grandmount, 541 Center Street an application for a Special Police Officer.  Mr. Platt motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to forward the application to Chief King.  Mr. Donahue made it unanimous.

6:30pm-Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants and to go into Executive Session regarding Negotiations with no business to be conducted afterwards.  Mr. Donahue made it unanimous.
