To either of the Constables of the Town of Raynham in the County of Bristol, GREETING.
IN THE NAME OF THE Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town, qualified to vote in elections and in Town affairs, to meet at the Raynham Middle School’s Joseph A. Bettencourt Auditorium in said Raynham on Thursday the 13th day of August at 7:00 in the evening, then and there to act on the following Articles.
ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to accept Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 64, section 2(a) to impose a local meals tax excise, or take any action relative thereto.
Note: The local option meals tax would be 0.75% as authorized by the Massachusetts General Court.
ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to amend its local Room Occupancy Excise under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 64G, Section 3A to the rate of six (6) percent, or take any action relative thereto.
Note: The Town currently imposes a 4% room occupancy excise.
ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to reduce the amount appropriated for the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District at the May 18, 2009 Annual Town Meeting from $----------12,900,807 to $12-------------------,631,985, or take any action relative thereto.
ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $_____________ as a gift to the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 71, section 37A for the purpose of hiring teachers and/or teaching staff, for the Town of Raynham School Buildings (grades K-8), or take any action relative thereto.
ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will vote to reduce the amount appropriated for the Highway/Parks & Grounds Personnel Expenses at the May 18, 2009 Annual Town Meeting from $1,027,324 to 1,007,324, or take any action relative thereto.
ARTICLE 6. To see if the Town will vote to reduce the amount appropriated for the Solid Waste Disposal Personnel Expenses at the May 18, 2009 Annual Town Meeting from $179,791 to $__________, or take any action relative thereto.
ARTICLE 7. To see if the Town will vote to reduce the amount appropriated for the Conservation Commission Personnel Expenses at the May 18, 2009 Annual Town Meeting from $64,714 to $44,714, or take any action relative thereto.
ARTICLE 8. To see if the Town will vote to reduce the amount appropriated for the Building Personnel Expenses at the May 18, 2009 Annual Town Meeting from $121,693 to $77,693, or take any action relative thereto.
ARTICLE 9. To see if the Town will vote to reduce the amount appropriated for the Data Processing/MIS Personnel Expenses at the May 18, 2009 Annual Town Meeting from $27,300 to $0 and to increase the Data Processing/MIS Expenses from $37,000 to $64,300, or take any action relative thereto.
And you are directed to serve this Warrant, by posting up attested copies thereof at the seven (7) places directed by vote of the Town, in said Town, seven (7) days before the time of holding said meeting.
HEREOF FAIL NOT, and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of meeting, as aforesaid.
