As part of the Upper Taunton Wild and Scenic River Study, a survey of the Forge River, one of its major tributaries, will be conducted this summer.
On Monday, July 14 from 6-8 PM at the Raynham Town Offices, the Massachusetts Adopt-a Stream Program will provide training on how to conduct a survey.
Volunteers from all walks of life (abutters, town officials, anglers, boaters, boy scouts, naturalists, etc.) are invited to attend.
The goal of the survey is to observe and record the current conditions along the shoreline including
agricultural, archeological and natural features.
An action plan will be drawn up at a follow-up meeting once the survey is complete.
For further information, please call Jim Ross, Chairman of the Upper Taunton Wild And Scenic River Study at 822-1575 or Nancy Durfee, Shoreline Survey Coordinator at 508-324-9836.
