Temporary Seasonal Jobs Available
The Raynham Highway Department is looking to hire qualified high school and college students for temporary seasonal employment to assist the department with the maintenance of Town infrastructure.
The period of time these positions are available is approximately May through October. Starting dates and ending dates of employment are flexible so as to coincide with the release and start dates of each individual school season and departmental needs.
Starting salary is $12.00/hour with a $.50 performance based raise each year of return
Up to 40 hour work week
Variety of outside work
9-hour days Monday thru Thursday, 4 hours on Friday, weather and workload permitting
Must be 18 years of age or over.
Must be able to perform to the physical and environmental standards below.
Must hold valid (MA, class D or higher) driver’s license
Flexible work schedule and availability based on departmental needs
Physical and Environmental Standards:
Duties require frequent and extended periods of outside work.
Subject to all weather conditions and extremes; continuous walking, standing and climbing.
Regular and sustained periods of strenuous physical exertion, requiring the ability to lift, carry and position heavy objects utilizing proper body mechanics and techniques.~
Operation of equipment that causes loud noise levels and high vibrations; must exercise caution when operating heavy equipment or handling chemicals; utilization of proper sanitary equipment when handling trash, garbage and other potential hazardous materials.
Preference will be given to Raynham residents and returning employees with favorable past work performance.
