The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MADPH) has announced today that the communities of Easton and Raynham have had a recent significant increase in positive identifications in mosquito pools carrying EEE and WNV. Based on this information Easton, Raynham, Taunton and West Bridgewater are now considered to be at CRITICAL risk for contracting the viruses. The Towns of Bridgewater and Norton have been elevated to High.
It was also announced by the DPH that a second round of aerial spraying shall commence in the aforementioned communities. It is anticipated that the spraying will be conducted by Monday 8/13/12.
In the meantime the outdoor ban of activities on Town and School properties shall stay in effect. It is imperative that individuals take the recommended personal precautions as well.
