Raynham Transfer Station Operational Changes
As of Monday, September 14, the following changes will take place:
Bag Tags will no longer be sold at the Transfer Station on Saturdays.
Transfer Station Tags will still be available at Landy’s, Colettis, Ace Hardware, Shaw’s and Tedeschi’s on Saturdays.
The Transfer Station will be closed on Mondays.
Bag Tags will cost $10.00 for a sheet of 5. Before September 14, 2009 tags will be sold for the current price of $7.50 for a sheet of 5, but customers will be limited to three sheets per purchase. Additional sheets can be purchased at that time but will be sold for the new price of $10.00 for sheet of 5.
Transfer Station vehicle permit stickers will be sold at $70.00 for the annual sticker and half year stickers for $35.00. Additional car stickers (for vehicles registered at the same address as the primary sticker) and replacement stickers will now cost $10.00 each.
Construction and demolition rates will be raised from $16 to $20 per yard for residential users, and from $26 to $30 per yard for commercial users.
The brush pile will be open on Saturdays, from 9:00 AM to 1:00PM.
All commercial yard-waste providers will be charged an annual fee of $400.00 per truck to use the grass dump off area from January to December of any given year. Access stickers will be sold during normal business hours 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday, at the Highway Department Office. Commercial Yard Waste Stickers will be required as of Monday, September 14th, and will be on sale as of September 1st.
Due to the financial crisis the Town finds itself in this budget year, the Highway Department was asked to make suggestions to the Board of Selectmen so that the Solid Waste operation can function within the revenues the received. The above changes were presented to and accepted by the Board of Selectmen at the Selectmen’s meeting Tuesday, August 11, 2009.
