COA BOARD MEETING JANUARY 5, 2004
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Betty Thompson at 9:15 A.M. Present were Betty Thompson, Yvonne Quinlan, Theresa Galligan, Loretta Wood, John Montagano, and Kathleen Roberts. Patrice White was absent.
The Secretary’s report was accepted as corrected.
The Treasurer’s report was accepted as read.
Outreach report read and discussed.
Director’s report The director reported that if there is a bad storm and there is no school, events will be canceled, but staff will come to work.
Meetings: At MCOA meeting in Falmouth we talked to Rochester seniors who expressed a desire to come to our COA and find out more about our activities. They accepted our invitation to come to lunch and a movie (Jan. 26)

c. CHORES update- working on this
d. Spring Fling/JM Couto-April 15 to be held at the Stoneforge, sign up March 23, 24 & 25.
e. Corned beef and cabbage-D’Avila, catered date Mar 18, Sign up Mar 2, 3, &4.
f. Jimmy Boyle update-working on this
g. Life Care update, the patients or people who live there full time are classified as Raynham residents.
New Business-
1.Valentine’s Day Lunch and entertainment-Thursday Feb. 9 at noon-soup, sandwich, dessert-will try to get Barber Shop quartet, Yvonne will decorate, sign up Jan 27, 28 & 29.
2. May Baskets-no date yet- a group of us will come in and do this for home bound and those who get meals on wheels.
3. Painting class -Time changed but only for 2 months. Next lesson Jan. 23. After this the 4th Thur of the month
4. Area Transportation -Voted we join with the Taunton COA if the grant money is available (this program will help seniors)
5. Foxwoods -April 22 sign up March 30, 31, April 1
6. Men’s breakfast- Mar 8 -sign up Feb. 24, 25 &26
Women’s breakfast May 10-Sign up April 27, 28 &29
7. Dog Track April 30- Sign up April 13, 14 & 15
8. Boston Post Cane to go to Clifford Butterworth at the next men’s breakfast. Publicity needed.
9. Veteran’s Day-Memorial Day-a time to honor our veterans- May 17 Luncheon and a speaker Bob Doherty, former prisoner of was, suggested as a speaker-ask Ed Paige to help-sign up May 4, 5&6-Get someone to post colors
10. Shed-Our shed is bulging we need another one, John will check on sizes and prices
11. Life Care-We will again extend an invitation to the residents to come to our center for activities such as our lunch and movies.
12. Cast Week- Get in touch with Pat Riley
