Council On Aging Minutes February 2, 2004
COA BOARD MEETING FEBRUARY 2, 2004
The meeting was called to order at 9:45 a.m. by Chairman Betty Thompson. Present were, Betty Thompson, Yvonne Quinlan, Theresa Galligan, M. Patrice White, and  Kathleen  Roberts. Absent were, John Montagno, Loretta Wood and Joyce Rodrigue.

Guest: Barbara Calderone, A Certified Home Health Care worker, who offered her services as a volunteer.
Secretary’s Report was accepted as read.
Treasurer’s Report, was accepted as read.
Outreach: Peggy attended 3 meetings, made 7 new visits, 19 re-visits and will attend MCOA Outreach Summit. The report was accepted.
Director’s Report: Med-Wheels status update- Fuel assistance calls- update on plumber’s work was read and accepted.
Meetings: At the MCOA meeting a group of seniors from the Rochester COA were invited to our Monday Movie Luncheon. They did attend and will reciprocate in the future.
Dept. Heads: Betty Thompson reported that there will be a Health Fair at Town Hall on 3/17/04.
Correspondence: Thank you notes were read from, Quilt Group and Nancy Delorey of the Wedgemere Nursing Home.
Committee Reports/Old Business:
        a. Discussed, January and February activities
        b.. Birthday Party
c. CHORES update, Joyce is working with 2 students and a teacher from BR. Joyce and Peggy will discuss procedure.
d. Spring Fling – April 15 at Stone Forge. Betty is working on entertainment.
e. Corned Beef and Cabbage to be catered by D’Avila  Cost will be $10.00
f. Jimmy Boyle working on plumbing issues.
g. Life Care –mobile patients are invited to attend Movie Luncheon. Will come with Caretakers. Program on Diabetes available re: Cindy.
h. Valentine’s Day all set.
           I May Baskets tabled.
           j. Paw Sox ticket’s July 3,2004, we have tickets.
k. Memorial Day ,  May17, 2004 ,P.O.W., Bob Doherty- Speaker Sign-up May   5,4,and 6, 2004.
           l. Dog Track: April 30,2004  $5.00  Sign up April 13,14 and 15, 2004.
           m. Boston Post Cane- Good publicity WBZ will interview Mr. Butterworth.
n. Shed- It will not be necessary to purchase another one. Vigorous cleaning revealed there is ample space.
o. North Bristol Dinner tickets, distributed by lottery.

1.      Egg Painting: 3/29 – Instructor Barbara LaFlamme Fee $3.00 for supplies and lunch. Sign up Mar. 16,17, and 18,2004.
2.      Robotics 4/28/04 5:00 P.M. sign up April 13,14, and 15, 2004.

4.      Men’s Breakfast March 8,2004 Sign up  Feb.24/25, and 26.  Ladies’ Breakfast May 10,2004 Sign up April 27,28, and 29,2004.
5.      Scout Troop 79 to clean up our grounds on May 22or 23 Debby Laird, in charge.
6.      Spring Wreath Debbie Mello 3/20/04 10 A.M. sign up March 2,3, and 4,2004 $7.00.
