Board of Selectmen Minutes 07/25/2017
Board of Selectmen                                                                                      July 25, 2017
Marie Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present were Joseph Pacheco and Marie Smith

Acceptance of the Minutes
Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to accept the minutes of the July 11, 2017 meeting as printed.    

Department Heads & Committees

Mr. Bob Iafrate, Building Commissioner was present to give his monthly report.  The department has 355 building permits so far for this fiscal year.  Mr. Doyle the Plumbing Inspector has extended his hours for more coverage.  The Habachi Grill on 275 Rt. 44 is reopening with habachi tables where the staff cooks in front of you.  Three permits were requested for three houses in Phase I for Bassett Knoll Estates.  Skyline is opening a site on the corner of Rt. 138 and Elm Street and there are many other smaller projects going on as well around town as well.  Mr. Iafrate and Mr. Flaherty had a five year review meeting regarding setting the rates for the town.  There are two approved projects from the Planning Board, one being Innovation Park on Rt. 44 near Wendy’s and O’Reilly Auto Parts.  They also anticipate a new 81 room motel on Paramount Drive and the Bradford Trailor site is looking for site plan approval as well.  He has been asked by the Zoning Board for additional people.  

Town Administrator’s Report
Mr. Flaherty reviewed the Town Administrator’s Report.   The painting and door replacement work has begun on the North School.  He received a bid for the downstairs plumbing work from RMC.  
He is still waiting on Palmer Lock to submit a bid for the front door plate.  
The applicant for the Senior Clerk’s position was accepted and she will begin on August 14th.  
The Veteran’s Memorial Committee met just prior to the Board meeting and updates were given.  
The Moody’s Bond Rating should be out tomorrow and Lynne Foster is expecting an increase from AAA1 to AA3.  
The nest Selectmen’s Meeting will be held on August 8th at 7:00 p.m. there will be no meeting on August 1st as the Board is on the summer schedule.
The next Department Head Meeting will be held on August 17th.  
Correspondence
A Tag Day request was received for the following dates:  August 1st – 3rd, 23rd, 24th & Sept. 5th, 6th, & 7th.   Mr. Pacheco made a motion to approve, Mrs. Smith seconded.  
Citizen & Community Input
Mr. James Dupont was present to request permission for the Frosty Half Marathon to be held on Sunday, Dec. 10th he will get the permission from both Chiefs.  Mr. Flaherty offered the help of the Raynham CERT Team for traffic control.   Mr. Pacheco made a motion to approve, Mrs. Smith seconded.
Calvin Ellis was present to observe the Board Meeting for his Merit Badge to become an Eagle Scout.  

Adjournment  

7: 16 p.m. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing of Bills and Warrants and with an Executive Session to follow with no business to be conducted afterwards.
