Board of Selectmen Minutes 10/31/2017
Board of Selectmen                                                                                      October 31, 2017
Karen Donahue called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Present were Joseph Pacheco, Marie Smith and Karen Donahue.  

Acceptance of the Minutes
Mr. Pacheco made a motion and Mrs. Smith seconded to accept the minutes of the October 24th meeting as printed, Mrs. Donahue made it unanimous.  

Department Heads & Committees

Mr. Ed Buckley, Highway Superintendent was present to give his monthly report.  The road paving on Church and River Streets and Riverbrook Drive is done.  
The basketball court on Pleasant Street is 90% done, with the rest to be finished this Spring.  The storm clean-up is almost done with tree limbs and brush and the Transfer Station will be operating with extended hours this Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.  The new trucks are in and the hydraulics are being installed and the new sander is anticipated to be in mid-January.  Parks & Grounds are still mowing grass, and have seeded around the new basketball court.  They are also getting Borden Colony ready for the Octoberfest Bike Event.  The Board wanted to thank Mr. Buckley and his department for a great job cleaning up after the storm.  

Selectmen’s Report

Mrs. Smith said that she recently attended the Fireman’s luncheon – it was a great time.  She also attended a retirement meeting for Kim Dolan and Rebecca George was welcomed.  

Mr. Pacheco wanted to commend TMLP on restoring the power so quickly after the storm.  It was much appreciated.  

Mrs. Donahue wanted to also thank the Raynham Police Department as well.  

Town Administrator’s Report
Mr. Flaherty reviewed the Town Administrator’s Report.  The new Health Inspector should be starting next week.  
The interviews for the Temporary Clerk for the Treasurer/Collector’s Office have been done and a decision should be made soon.
The applicant for the Town Hall’s Custodian’s position will start December 1st.   
The SMHG & SERSG will be held on Nov. 1st in Mansfield.  
The North School renovations are ongoing.  
The Special Town Meeting will be held on Nov. 13th; the Pre-Town Meeting will be held on Nov. 7th.  Copies of the report are at the COA, the Library, Town Hall and on line at our website.    
The next Selectmen’s Meeting will be held on November 7th at 7:00 p.m.
The next Department Head Meeting will be held on November 16th at 10:00 a.m.
An auction of Town owned properties will be held on Nov. 8th at noon in Town Hall.  Please see Michael King, Treasurer/Collector for details.  

A Tag Day request was received from Nothing But The Truth ministry for November 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th.  Mr. Pacheco made a motion to approve, Mrs. Smith seconded and Mrs. Donahue made it unanimous.  
A request for transfer of location was received from Bradford Trailer Sales from 746 New State Highway, to 1958 Broadway Raynham (Raynham Dog Track).  Mr. Pacheco made a motion to approve, Mrs. Smith seconded and Mrs. Donahue made it unanimous.
An invitation was received from the American Legion Post 405, inviting the Board of Selectmen for their Veteran’s Day celebration on Saturday, November 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  


7:30 p.m. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing of Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards.  Mrs. Donahue made it unanimous.
