MINUTES OF THE RAYNHAM PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION
Regular Monthly Meeting, December 7, 2010, 6:00 p.m.
Raynham Senior Center, 2215 King Philip Street, Raynham, MA
In Attendance: Chairman Jim Sullivan, Commissioner Joe Doyle, Commissioner Chris Shaw, and Administrative Assistant/Recording Secretary SJ Blanchard.
Absent: Director Elizabeth Francis.
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the Nov. 9, 2010 Commission meeting. Joe made a motion to accept the minutes as printed. Chris seconded the motion, and all three voted unanimously in favor of the motion.
Commissioners set the following future meeting dates: Jan. 4, 2011, Feb. 1, 2011, March 1, 2011, and April 5, 2011. These Tuesday meetings will begin at 6 p.m. at the Raynham Senior Center.
A third hardship request for a basketball scholarship has been received. The single parent of a kindergartener asks the Commission’s consideration in waiving the late fee and reducing the registration fee as it presents a financial hardship for the household.
Chris made a motion to grant a full scholarship in this case. Joe seconded the motion and a unanimous vote followed.
Commissioners voted unanimously to have SJ author the Department’s 2010 annual report to the town, following a motion made by Chris and seconded by Joe.
Commissioners signed the payroll status form for SJ’s step raise, in accordance with the union contract. They also approved her 3.5 vacation days in December.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:27 p.m.
