Chairman Raymond W. Platt called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:00 PM.
Present were Raymond W. Platt, Donald L. McKinnon and Gordon D. Luciano.
Mr. McKinnon moved and Mr. Luciano seconded to accept the minutes of November 5, 2002 meeting as printed. Mr. Platt made it unanimous.
Town Planner Richard McCarthy presented the Board with a copy of the PWED Grant Application for construction improvements on Route 138, filed on November 8, 2002
with the Executive Office of Transportation and Construction. He mentioned that State Senator Marc Pacheco, State Representative David Flynn, Congressman Barney Frank, S.R.P.E.D.D. and many residents of the Town have supported this proposal. The Board said they very much appreciated the support of all who gave it.
Mr. McCarthy also gave the Board a draft of an Affordable Housing Strategy for Executive Order 418 which he said he would like to discuss with the Board because it needs the endorsement of the Board. The Board agreed to meet with Mr. McCarthy next Tuesday at 7:15 PM at which time the public is invited to offer their input.
Police Chief Peter King reported that most of the grant applications filed, have not been funded and the COP Grant application, has not yet been decided.
Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed. Mr. Buckner recommended that the Town award the contract for DPW Services as printed. Mr. Luciano moved and Mr. McKinnon seconded to award the contracts for DPW Services as printed. Mr. Platt made it unanimous.
At Mr. Luciano’s suggestion, the Board agreed to put the Tax Lien case on the agenda for next week.
Mr. McKinnon reported that he will be meeting with Dr. Gerhart and the Bridgewater-Raynham School Planning Committee tomorrow at 5:00 PM.
Mr. McKinnon moved and Mr. Luciano seconded to reappoint Lawrence T. Cabeceiras, 217 Elm St., as a Constable for one year. Mr. Platt made it unanimous.
Correspondence: Notice of Taunton River Wild & Scenic River Study Committee will be meeting November 13, 2002 at 7:00 PM.
Correspondence: Patricia Riley advised the Board that tomorrow night her cable program “Inside Scoop” will be broadcast from the new studio in the Town Office.
7:15 PM—Mr. Luciano moved and Mr. McKinnon voted to adjourn and noted that there will be a pre-Town Meeting at 7:30 PM. Mr. Platt made it unanimous.
