Board of Selectmen Minutes 02/15/2005


February 15, 2005
Chairman Raymond W. Platt called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 6:30pm.

Present were Raymond W. Platt, John Donahue, and Donald L. McKinnon.

Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to accept the minutes of the February 8, 2005 meeting.  Mr. Platt made it unanimous.

Mr. Buckner said that the Technology Committee has requested the hire of a part-time technical computer employee rather than a contacting a consultant firm when necessary. Deputy Chief Pacheco spoke of the compelling need for an IT person on staff. Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to authorize the Committee to forward their recommendation to the Board regarding the hiring of a part-time computer employee.  Mr. Platt made it unanimous.

Attorney Antine was present and requested the Board’s signatures to accept the gifted property from Paramount Development Association Inc.  Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to accept the donated two parcels of land from Paramount Development Association, Inc.  Mr. Platt made it unanimous.

Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Donahue seconded to forward correspondence to the City of Taunton informing them of the time and place for the Planning Board Meeting regarding Wal Mart.  Mr. Platt made it unanimous.

Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to forward correspondence to Secretary Hertzfelder on rescheduling a meeting regarding the proposed transfer station proposed for the Dog Track at a reasonable time and location agreeable to all.  Mr. Platt made it unanimous.

Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.

Correspondence – The Board received information from SRPEDD regarding their next meeting on February 23, 2005 at 7pm.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Raynham Patrolmen Union the remaining members name for the Police Safety & Equipment Committee.  

Correspondence – The Board received an application for a Special Police Officer from Philip Bryce of 18 Railroad Avenue, Taunton.  Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to forward the application to Chief King.  Mr. Platt made it unanimous.

6:50pm-Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Donahue seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants and to go into Executive Session regarding Security of the Town and Contract Negotiations, with no business to be conducted afterwards.  Mr. Platt made it unanimous.
