February 13, 2007                                                                 BOARD OF SELECTMEN

Chairman Donald L. McKinnon called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to
order at 7:00pm.

Present were Donald L. McKinnon, Raymond W. Platt, and John Donahue.

Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to amend the minutes of the February 6, 2007 meeting as follows: remove sentence- Mr. Bettencourt recommended naming the new Board of Selectmen Meeting Room as the Donald L. McKinnon Meeting Room.  Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.

Mr. Platt motioned and Mr. Donahue seconded to appoint Michelle Enos to the part-time RAVE position through the end of the school year effective February 26, 2007.  Board members welcomed
Ms. Enos.

Sheryn Pasquale, Mrs. Marino, Mrs. DeLuca and Mrs. LeFleur were present and expressed concerns regarding the speed limit on Center Street.  Mrs. Pasquale informed the Board of the number of accidents which have occurred during the past three years and stated that the completion of work on Rt. 104 has increased the number of cars speeding.  Mr. Buckner said that Chief Pacheco is aware of the situation.  Mr. Platt motioned and Mr. Donahue seconded to forward the concerns to the Chief.  
Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.

7:12pm -Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded for a brief recess.  Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
7:13pm-Mr. Platt motioned and Mr. Donahue seconded to reconvene the Board of Selectmen Meeting.  Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.

Mr. Platt said that the TIF Committee met this evening regarding a possible new applicant and that the next TIF Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 6:00pm.

Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrators Report was reviewed

Mr. Buckner informed that the Highway Department is requesting the Town Building Committee oversee the construction of the Highway Department addition.  Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to request the Town Building Committee oversee the construction of the Highway Department addition and any issues that arise.  Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.

Mr. Donahue said that he attended the Open House/Tour of the new Town Hall on Saturday and complimented all.  He said that he has reviewed the submitted department budgets and thanked all the departments for their assistance during the year.  On another matter, Mr. Donahue said he attended last night’s School Department Budget meeting.  He informed all that correspondence has been forwarded to Aquaria.

Mr. Platt complimented Department Heads on budgets presented.

Mr. McKinnon concurred that the tour Saturday of the new Town Hall was outstanding and congratulated the entire team for their efforts.  Mr. McKinnon said that the Bridgewater/Raynham High School Committee met recently and that the completion date is set for May 2007.  Mr. McKinnon said the Town Clerk has located a list of 17 names of those killed in action during the Civil War and will be forwarded to the Veterans Memorial Committee.

Correspondence - The Board received from Comcast information regarding their interest in the local area.

Correspondence - The Board received requests for Tag Days as follow:  Taunton Girls Softball League, March 16, 2007; Relay for Life at Wal-Mart, May 20, 2007; Silver City, March 18, May 5 & 6; and Relay for Life at Wal-Mart, March 31, 2007.  Mr. Platt motioned and Mr. Donahue seconded to approve the request as listed for Tag Days.  Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.

7:45pm – Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants and to go into Executive Session re: collective bargaining with no business to be conducted afterwards.  Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
