February 20, 2007 BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Chairman Donald L. McKinnon called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:12pm.
Present were Donald L. McKinnon, Raymond W. Platt, and John Donahue.
Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to accept the minutes of the February 13, 2007 meeting as printed. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Pat Riley presented the Board with a Proclamation for Read Across America. Mr. McKinnon read the Proclamation designating the week of February 25, 2007 through March 3, 2007 as Read Across America Week in Raynham. Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to accept the Proclamation designating the week of February 25, 2007 through March 3, 2007 as Read Across America Week in Raynham. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Mr. Platt informed all that the TIF Committee met this evening and is in the finalizing stages of a TIF Agreement.
Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrators Report was reviewed
Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to authorize the Town Administrator to close Town Hall March 1, 2007 at 12:00pm and to re-open March 6, 2007 at 8:30am for the move to the new Town Hall/Sullivan School. They also requested that an emergency phone line for residents be set up during the closure. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Mr. Donahue commented on the Commuter Rail and said that a meeting has been scheduled for Friday with Transportation Secretary Cohen at the Raynham Dog Track. Mr. Donahue requested the posting of the meeting.
Mr. McKinnon spoke of the vacant positions on the School Committee, Planning Board and Park & Rec. Mr. McKinnon asked Mr. Donahue to briefly inform all of the information presented at the School Budget Meeting last week. Mr. Platt commented on the need of a Safety Officer in the schools.
Correspondence – The Board received information regarding a meeting with representatives for the Commuter Rail on Friday, February 23, 2007 at the Raynham/Taunton Dog Track, 9:30-10am.
Correspondence – The Board received information from SRPEDD regarding their next scheduled meeting for Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 7pm.
Correspondence – The Board received Tag Day requests as follows: Taunton Girls Softball League on March 30, 2007. Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to approve the day for the Taunton Girls Softball League on March 30, 2007. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous. Relay for Life, Cancer Society selling candy bars on April 21, 2007. Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to approve the Relay for Life, Cancer Society selling candy bars on April 21, 2007. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
8:05pm – Mr. Donahue motioned and Mr. Platt seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
