Board of Selectmen Minutes 05/06/2008
May 6, 2008                                                     BOARD OF SELECTMEN


Chairmen Joseph R. Pacheco called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to
order at 7:06pm.

Present were Joseph R. Pacheco, Donald L. McKinnon, and Marie Smith.

Mr. Pacheco informed all that the Board was returning from an Executive Session.

Present was John Welch, Mrs. Welch and family members for the Dedication of Raynham’s Annual Reports of the Town Officers.  Mr. Pacheco read the dedication and thanked Mr. Welch for his dedication to the Town.  Mr. McKinnon spoke of Mr. Welch’s past experiences and his involvement within the Town.  Mrs. Smith said that Raynham was proud to have Mr. Welch and thanked him for all his accomplishments.  Mr. Welch spoke of some of his past accomplishments within the Town and thanked the Board for their kindness.  

Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.

Mr. McKinnon complimented RAVE on the activities scheduled during CAST Week and said that he enjoyed participating in the program.

Mrs. Smith also complimented RAVE and said that she too has enjoyed the students.

Mr. Pacheco said that Student Government Day went very well and that he had visited Bridgewater State College afterwards to listen to the feedback from the students.   
He said that the Economic Development Fund is progressing through the statehouse.
He also said that the installation of speed limit signs throughout the Town is progressing.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Professional Fire Fighters of Raynham information regarding Raynham’s Annual Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 17, 2008.

Correspondence – The Board received a request from the First Congregational Church to waive fees for the building inspection of the church and all churches in Raynham for the upcoming year.  
Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to waive building safety inspection fees for the First Congregational Church and all churches in Raynham.  Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.

Correspondence – The Board received information regarding Bridgewater/Raynham Regional High School Technology Department scheduled recycling date of May 10, 2008.

Correspondence – The Board received information regarding the Bridgewater/Raynham Regional High School production of Beauty and the Beast on May 8, 9, & 10, 2008.

Correspondence – The Board received information from the Highway Department regarding Household Hazardous Day in Raynham.

Correspondence – The Board received requests for Tag Days as follows:  Joyful Noise Pre-School for June 21, 2008; Taunton School Department, Extended Day Program, car wash on May 17, 2008 or a rain date of May 31, 2008; DECA, Norton High School, candy sale on May 16, 2008; and Circle K International, car wash on June 8, 2008.  Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to approve pending approval from the Water District.  Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.

7:36pm – Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants, followed by an Executive Session, with no business to be conducted afterwards.  Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.
