Board of Selectmen Minutes 12/23/2008



December 23, 2008                                                BOARD OF SELECTMEN

Chairmen Joseph Pacheco called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:04pm.

Present were Joseph Pacheco, Donald L. McKinnon and Marie Smith.

Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to accept the minutes of the December 16, 2008. Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.

Mr. Stolte was present and explained to all the Highway Department process during the recent snow storm. Mr. Pacheco said the Board had received some complaints which was unusual. Mr. McKinnon also commented on some residents plowing snow across the main street which left trails for additional plowing to be done by the Town.  Mr. McKinnon suggested that a by-law be drafted restricting residents from plowing snow into a street.

Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.

Mr. Buckner informed that random drug tests are performed on CDL operators and recommended awarding a SERSG contract to Advantage Drug Testing.  Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to award the contract to Advantage Drug Testing.  Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.

Correspondence – The Board received information regarding the final process for the More Grant.

Correspondence – The Board received a request from Mr. Stolte to exceed his Department’s snow budget. Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the request to exceed the Highway Department’s budget for snow removal.  Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.

Correspondence – The Board received from Bristol County Agricultural High School information regarding a possible tuition increase.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Fire Department the Activity Report for the Month of November.

Correspondence – The Board received from Chief Pacheco concerns regarding cars parked along Thrasher Street while sledding.  Due to safety concerns, Chief Pacheco suggested temporarily removing a portion of the fence and creating an area for parking.  Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to remove a section of fence for parking.  Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.

7:30pm – Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants, with no business to be conducted afterwards.  
Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.
