February 10, 2009 BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Chairmen Joseph Pacheco called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:00pm.
Present were Joseph Pacheco, Donald L. McKinnon and Marie Smith.
Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to accept the minutes of the February 3, 2009. Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.
Mr. Pacheco informed all that the Board was returning from an Executive Session regarding Safety of the Town.
Mr. Pacheco requested a moment of silence for the recent lose of Lance Corporal Kevin Preach.
Chief Pacheco was present and asked for the Board’s approval to retire the Department’s present K-9.
Chief informed the Board that the dog is approximately nine years old and would like to acquire another K-9 prior to July 1, 2009.
Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the Contract for Property Evaluation Service for the Board of Assessors as submitted. Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.
Mr. Pacheco informed all that the Board received information regarding the change in Attorney on the National Reclamation case. Mr. Antine will now handle the case for the Town.
Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.
Mr. McKinnon informed all that he will be attending a meeting in Boston with the Department of Revenue to discuss and review the budget for education.
Mr. Pacheco congratulated both Mr. McKinnon and Mrs. Smith for their recent nomination for Lifetime Member of the Democratic Town Committee.
Correspondence – The Board received a request for approval of a proclamation from the Silver Star Families of Americans to honor our wounded military veterans by showing appreciation for their sacrifices. Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the proclamation for May 1, 2009 from the Silver Star Families of Americans. Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received a request for a Tag Day from Veterans Helping Veterans for May 29, 30, and 31, 2009. Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the Tag Day for Veterans Helping Veterans. Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.
7:17pm – Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards.
Mr. Pacheco made it unanimous.
