BOARD OF SELECTMEN


Date:  May 26, 2009

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM.

Present were Donald L. McKinnon, Marie A. Smith and Joseph R. Pacheco.

Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as written.

Mr. McKinnon reported that this year’s Annual Town Report was dedicated to Kevin and Shirley Ellis.  He read the dedication of the 2008 Annual Town Report.  The Board signed several copies of the report for the Ellis’s.  Members praised Mr. and Mrs. Ellis for all their contributions to the community.

Mr. McKinnon discussed appointments to the Raynham Cable Access and Media, Inc. (Raycam) Board of Directors.  Mr. Ellis was the only applicant so far for the three positions.  Mr. Pacheco moved and Mrs. Smith seconded to appoint Mr. Ellis to the three-year term.  Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.  Discussion followed.  Mr. McKinnon moved and Mr. Pacheco seconded to appoint Mrs. Smith to a two year term and Mr. Pacheco to the one year term.  Mr. McKinnon explained that Mrs. Smith and Mr. Pacheco were interim appointments until interested citizens were found.  He said the Board of Directors needed to move to file the paper with the Secretary of State and take other necessary actions.

Mr. McKinnon discussed the Planning Board vacancy and the Quinn Bill.

Correspondence:

 Mr. McKinnon read a letter from the MMA regarding the Senate Fy 2010 budget.

Mr. McKinnon read a notice from the ABCC denying the transfer of the Quan Am Market All Alcoholic Beverage Package Store License.

Mrs. Smith moved and Mr. Pacheco seconded to approve the following Tag Days:  Taunton Pop Warner Football for August 22 and 23, 2009 and for Taunton High School Cheerleading for August 8 & 9. 2008.  Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.

7:52 PM Mrs. Smith moved and Mr. Pacheco seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing of bills and warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards.  Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
