October 13, 2009 BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Chairmen Donald McKinnon called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:03pm.
Present were Donald L. McKinnon, Marie Smith, and Joseph Pacheco.
Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to accept the minutes of the October 6, 2009 meeting
as printed. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Mr. McKinnon informed all that the Board was returning from an Executive Session regarding Collective Bargaining.
Present was Mr. Wheeler, Finance Committee, who reviewed the Articles listed on the draft warrant for the November Town Meeting.
Board Members concurred to schedule the Pre-Town Meeting on November 3, 2009 following the regularly scheduled Board of Selectmen meeting at the Town Hall.
Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to accept and close the warrant as printed.
Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received from Marianne Mastrolia a request for October 25, 2009 “Seniors Helping Seniors.” The senior class of the Bridgewater/Raynham High School would organize approximately 75 students to help senior citizens in the Town by doing yard work. The request requires the landfill to be open for a period of one hour for disposal of the collected yard waste. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to approve the event “Seniors Helping Seniors” along with the hours of the landfill to be available for the disposal of the yard waste between 3-4pm on October 25, 2009. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received from the Law Offices of Demakis a request for a change of Officer and Director on the all-alcoholic beverage license of Applebee’s Restaurant North LLC from Carin L. Stutz to Michael Archer. Mr. Buckner told the Board that no Public Hearing was necessary. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to approve the change of Officer and Director at Applebee’s Restaurant North LLC from Carin L. Stutz to Michael Archer. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.
Mrs. Smith informed all of a Veteran Committee Meeting tomorrow night to discuss the event planned for November 14, 2009, honoring Sgt. Monti.
Mr. McKinnon spoke of the football game this past weekend between Bridgewater/Raynham and Attleboro High.
Correspondence – The Board received a letter of resignation from Sally A. Caputo of the Raynham Cultural Council. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to accept with regrets. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received from the Raynham Lions Club a request to host two fundraisers, October 17, 2009-American Cancer Society and October 22, 2009-Raynham Library Comedy Night for which they were requesting one-day liquor licenses. Events have been approved by Park & Rec. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to approve the special one-day all alcoholic beverage licenses for October 17 and 22, 2009 at the Raynham Lions Club. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received a letter requesting use of the Town Hall meeting room from the Massachusetts Racing Commission for November 4, 2009 from 10 AM until 12 noon. Mr. Buckner had given permission.
7:55pm – Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous
