December 1, 2009 BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Chairmen Donald McKinnon called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 6:33pm.
Present were Donald L. McKinnon, Marie Smith, and Joseph Pacheco.
Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to accept the minutes of the November 24, 2009 meeting as printed. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Peter King presented to the Board a framed photo of Sgt. Monti along with a display of his Medal of Honor Certificate. Mr. King said that both parents of Sgt. Monti and the three local schools have identical frames. Mr. McKinnon thanked Mr. King for his outstanding photography and craftsmanship.
Mr. McKinnon informed that the Board received an application for a septic repair at 102 Lounsbury Drive. Mr. Perry recommended approval. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to approve the application for septic repair at 102 Lounsbury Drive. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.
Mr. Pacheco informed the Board that the Town was receiving a grant of $12,000 to study economic development along the Rt. 138 corridor
Mr. McKinnon discussed a story in the Beacon about the funding method for Charter Schools.
Correspondence – The Board received from the Board of Assessors a request to schedule a Public Hearing for Classification on Real and Personal Property Tax. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to schedule the Public Hearing on December 8, 2009 at 7:15pm. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Mr. Cummings was present and discussed with the Board issues at the Borden Colony soccer fields. Mr. Cummings informed them that there was no handicapped parking at any of the fields, the gravel lots are in need of repair due to holes, and there was need for drainage in the parking lot. Mr. McKinnon requested the information to be forwarded to the Park & Recreation Department. He also suggested scheduling a joint meeting with Park & Rec. to discuss the issues.
7:07pm – Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous
