January 26, 2010 BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Chairmen Donald McKinnon called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:01pm.
Present were Donald L. McKinnon, Marie Smith, and Joseph Pacheco.
Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to accept the minutes of the January 19, 2010 meeting as printed. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Mr. McKinnon read a plaque which was presented to Raymond Chappell in honor of his retirement from his position as Electrical Inspector. Present were Mr. & Mrs. Chappell along with many family members. Board members wished Mr. Chappell the best and complimented him on his 54 years of service. Mr. Chappell thanked the Board and the Town.
Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.
Mr. Buckner informed that the position for Assistant Wiring Inspector has been posted and requested a date to be set as a deadline for applications. Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to schedule a deadline date of February 1, 2010 for the receipt of applications or letters of interest for the advertised position of Assistant Wiring Inspector. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Mrs. Smith reminded all of the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony tomorrow at the Middle School for the new Cable Studio.
Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to forward a letter of thanks to Town Clerk Helen Lounsbury and her poll workers thanking them for the outstanding job performed during the recent elections. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received a request from the South Shore Horsemen’s Council for horse shows at the Rozenas field on May 16, June 27 and August 22, 2010. Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to approve South Shore Horsemen’s Council for horse shows on May 16, June 27 and August 22, 2010 with the usual conditions. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received from Bob Bessette a letter of interest for the Assistant Wiring Inspector vacant position.
Correspondence – The Board received from Rob Carey, Raynham Sewer Employee Union a request to schedule a meeting date for the start of negotiations for the Sewer Union Contract. Mr. Pacheco stated that he would coordinate with Mr. Buckner on the meeting dates.
Correspondence – The Board received from Nurse Fahey a thank you to Mr. Perry and his staff for the assistance during the recent H1N1 Vaccine Clinic.
Mr. McKinnon requested that a letter be sent to Rev. Tilbe at the First Congregational Church, thanking him for the H1N1clininc held on Sunday at the church. Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to forward a letter of thanks to Rev. Tilbe. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received the following request for Tag Days: Ms. Chappell for April 2, 2010 for the Raynham Middle School Baseball/Softball Teams; Brian Lovely, Pack 87 for May 15, June 5, and October 23, 2010. Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to approve the above listed Tag Days. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous.
Mr. McKinnon informed all of an Executive Session prior to the regular meeting regarding a grievance with the Patrolmen’s Union.
7:36pm – Mrs. Smith motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards. Mr. McKinnon made it unanimous
