March 9, 2010                                                   BOARD OF SELECTMEN


Chairmen Donald McKinnon called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:04pm.

Present were Donald L. McKinnon and Joseph Pacheco.  Absent was Marie Smith.

Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to accept the minutes of the March 2, 2010 meeting as printed.  The vote made it unanimous.

Mr. McKinnon read an application request for Constable from Joel C. Thomas of Bridgewater.  
Mr. Buckner said that the Chief had reviewed the request and that several recommendations were received from surrounding communities.  Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to appoint Joel C. Thomas of East Bridgewater as Constable in Raynham for a term of one year.  The vote made it unanimous.

Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.

Mr. Buckner stated that MEPA’s open comment period for the Lakeshore Development closed
March 12, 2010.  Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to forward the letter received from our consultants, Greenman & Pedersen Inc., with comments regarding traffic impacts on Tracy’s Corner to MEPA.  The vote made it unanimous.

Mr. McKinnon congratulated the Raynham Water District and Mr. Stolte on their efforts regarding the water issues on Robinson/Hall Street.
Mr. McKinnon informed all that Mrs. Smith recently underwent eye surgery and will be absent for the month of March.

Correspondence – The Board received the Monthly Activity Report from the Fire Department.

Correspondence –  The Board received a request from the Commonwealth of MA Department of Agricultural Resources for the submittal of nominations to the position of Inspector of Animals.  
Mr. Buckner said that Sarah Krajewski has been the Town’s Animal Inspector for the past five years.
Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to nominate Sarah Krajewski to the Department of Agricultural Resources for the position of Inspector of Animals.  The vote made it unanimous.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Bridgewater/Raynham Regional School District, FY2011 Budget Time Line.

Correspondence – The Board received from Massachusetts DOT information regarding a pre-construction conference on March 23, 2010 for the resurfacing of Rt. 24 from Brockton to Raynham.

Correspondence – The Board received a request for an appointment to the Bristol County Advisory Board.  Mr. Pacheco volunteered to service as the Town’s appointee.

Correspondence – The Board received a request from Boys Scout Troop 22 of East Taunton for a popcorn fundraiser on November 13 & 14, 2010.  Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the request for Boy Scout Troop 22 for November 13 & 14, 2010.  The vote made it unanimous.
7:23pm – Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants Executive Session regarding Contracts with no business to be conducted afterwards.  The vote made it unanimous
