Board of Selectmen Minutes 05/11/2010

May 11, 2010                                                              BOARD OF SELECTMEN

Chairmen Marie Smith called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 6:30pm.

Present were Marie Smith, Donald L. McKinnon, and Joseph Pacheco

Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to accept the minutes of the May 4, 2010 meeting as printed.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Contract Awards –Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to award the following contracts:
SERSG IFB for Paper, FY2011 to W.B. Mason and DPW supplies, FY2011 as listed.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.

The Board received from Greyhound Package Store a liquor license application for a new manager and a liquor license application from Surly Johnson’s for an outdoor patio area.  Mr. Buckner suggested scheduling a Public Hearing for both.  Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to schedule a Public Hearing for Greyhound Package Store on May 18, 2010 and Surly Johnson’s on May 25, 2010.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Mr. Buckner reviewed with Board members the proposed summer schedule for the Board of Selectmen meetings.  The summer schedule is as follows: no scheduled meeting June 8 & 22, July 6 & 20, August 3, 17 & 31.Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the summer schedule beginning June 8, 2010.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Correspondence – The board received a letter from the Bridgewater/Raynham Regional School Committee regarding a unanimous vote to form a district-wide committee to review the Regional School Agreement.  Dr. Pacy requested members from the Town to serve on the Committee as follows:  Two School Committee Members, One Selectmen and one alternate, One member from the Finance Committee and one alternate, Town Administrator and three (3) citizens.  Mr. McKinnon and Mrs. Smith volunteered to serve on the Committee.  Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to appoint Mr. McKinnon as the Selectmen representative and Mrs. Smith as the alternate to the Regional School Agreement Study Committee.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous. Mrs. Smith asked for citizens wishing to serve on the Committee to submit a letter of interest by May 15, 2010.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Bristol County Mosquito Control information regarding spraying for adult mosquitoes beginning on May 17, 2010.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Disabled American Veterans of Taunton information regarding “Operation Let Freedom Ring” on July 4, 2010.  Board Members concurred to forward the information to the Veterans Agent, Police and Fire Departments.

Correspondence – The Board received a letter with a suggestion regarding unpaid property taxes.  Board members concurred to forward the letter to the Town Treasurer/Collector.

6:57pm – Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards.
Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
