May 18, 2010 BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Chairmen Marie Smith called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:00pm.
Present were Marie Smith, Donald L. McKinnon, and Joseph Pacheco
Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to accept the minutes of the May 11, 2010 meeting as printed. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.
Mr. Pacheco motioned for the Board’s approval for him to work with the Senate Counsel on getting the amendment written for House Bill 4485. Mr. McKinnon seconded the motion and Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to schedule a Special Town Election for June 26, 2010 for the purpose of voting on the $950,000 override question for the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous. Mr. McKinnon spoke of the override vote needed in the amount of $950,000 and stated that it was a positive move for the Town.
7:17pm Public Hearing - Greyhound Package Store, liquor license application for change of manager to Christopher Pabst. Mr. Pabst was present and informed the Board that his uncle recently passed away and that his aunt will be continuing the control of the business. Mr. Pabst informed the Board that he had worked for Greyhound Package Store for the past fifteen years. Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to approve the change in manager for Greyhound Package Store to Christopher Pabst. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received from the Commonwealth Board of Library Commissions information regarding application round for grant funding for general construction for renovations, expansions and new construction of public library facilities.
Correspondence – The Board received from MA DOT Highway Department information regarding scheduled meeting dates for the Capital Investment Plan. Board Members requested that the correspondence be forwarded to Mr. Stolte.
Correspondence – The Board received from the MA Secondary School Association notice that Dave Thompson was chosen as the 2010 MA Middle Level Educator of the Year. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon requested a letter of congratulations be sent to Mr. Thompson. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to request the clarification between Override and Debt Exclusion be placed on the Town’s website. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
7:36pm – Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
