Board of Selectmen Minutes 09/14/2010

BOARD OF SELECTMEN                                                            September 14, 2010

Chairman Marie Smith called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:04pm.

Present were Marie Smith, Donald L. McKinnon and Joseph Pacheco.

Acceptance of the Minutes --  Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to accept the minutes of the September 7, 2010 meeting as printed.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Present was Pat Riley, Michelle Enos, Kim Dolan and Kara Peters representing RAVE.  Ms. Riley read to the Board a Press Release regarding programs being offered through RAVE during their 30th year.  Ms. Riley introduced the Co-Chairs of this year Kindergarten Reception Program, Ms. Peters and Ms. Dolan. Ms. Riley also informed the Board that Ms. Enos, RAVE Coordinator, will be resigning from her position.
Ms. Enos thanked the Board, the Town and Ms. Riley for the opportunity she was given to work in such a wonderful community.  Board members thanked Ms. Enos along with all the volunteers of RAVE for their efforts.

Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.

Mr. Pacheco reminded all that today was an Election Day.

Mr. McKinnon spoke of the reasons the K-8 De-Regionalization/Superintendency Union Study Committee was started.

Mrs. Smith reminded all of Pride Day scheduled for this Sunday.

Correspondence – The Board received from Attorney Antine a request to the ABCC to re-schedule the appeal of George Moniz b/d/a Raynham Laundry Center from October 6, 2010 to October 27, 2010 due to the fact that he will be out-of-town.

Correspondence – The Board received from Norwood Co-Op Bank/Champion Builders a request for the acceptance of roadways for Carriage Hill Estates, Phase I – Homestead Drive, Parson’s Walk, Carriage Hill Drive and Durham Drive.  Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to forward the request to the Planning Board for recommendation and to Tax Collector Linda King to check on any outstanding taxes.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Sewer Commission an invitation to a meeting on October 14th. Mr. McKinnon said he’d be away and Mr. Pacheco also requested a different date.
Correspondence – The Board received from the Fire Department the Monthly Activity Report for August 2010.

Correspondence – The Board received information from RAYCAM regarding their participation in Pride Day on Sunday.

Correspondence – The Board received information regarding Raynham Community Blood Drive on September 16, 2010 between 2-7pm at the Raynham Athletic Club.

Correspondence – The Board received from the Council on Aging information regarding newly elected officers:  Co-Chairs: Kathleen Roberts and Barbara Sleezer; Treasurer: Betty L. Thompson; and
Secretary: M. Patrice White.

7:34pm-Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
