Board of Selectmen Minutes 11/16/2010


BOARD OF SELECTMEN                                                      November 16, 2010

Chairman Marie Smith called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:00pm.

Present was Marie Smith, Donald L. McKinnon and Joseph Pacheco.

Acceptance of the Minutes --  Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to accept the minutes of the November 9, 2010 meeting as printed.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Chief Pacheco was present and announced his retirement from the Department effective on or about
January 2, 2011.  Chief Pacheco thanked the Board for allowing him to serve the Town during the thirty-seven years he has been on the force.  Board Members thanked the Chief for all his years of service.

Mr. Buckner said all that before any donations can be accepted for work to be done on the basketball courts at the Merrill School on Pleasant Street, an account would need to be set-up.  Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to establish an account for donations for the renovations of the basketball courts.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.

Mr. Buckner informed all of two vacancies in the Town – Board of Appeals and Conservation Commission. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to post as necessary both vacancies.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Mr. Pacheco informed all that he attended a number of Veteran’s Day ceremonies during the past week along with Mr. McKinnon and Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Smith thanked the School Department for all they did in honoring our Veterans.

Correspondence – The Board received information from the Alan Perry, Health Agent that the Bridgewater/Raynham School District, through its Nursing Department in conjunction with the Board of Health in both Raynham and Bridgewater, will conduct a flu clinic on November 22, 2010 at the Bridgewater/Raynham High School.

Correspondence – The Board received from Beverly Saccocia a request for a Proclamation for National Education Support Professionals (ESP) Day.  Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the Proclamation for November 17, 2010.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

Correspondence – The Board received a letter of interest for the vacancy on the Board of Appeals.  
Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to forward the letter to the Chairman of the Board of Appeals.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.

7:19pm-Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards.  Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
