BOARD OF SELECTMEN March 1, 2011
Chairman Marie Smith called the regular meeting of the Raynham Board of Selectmen to order at 7:00pm. Present were Marie Smith, Donald L. McKinnon and Joseph Pacheco.
Acceptance of the Minutes -- Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to accept the minutes of the February 22, 2011 meeting as printed. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
Appointments – Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to appoint Russell L. Berry as a full-time Raynham Police Officer effective March 1, 2011. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to appoint Frank L. Pacheco as a full-time Raynham Police Officer effective March 1, 2011. Mr. Pacheco voted present.
Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to appoint Jennifer B. Pohl as a full-time Raynham Police Officer effective March 1, 2011. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
Mr. McKinnon motioned and Mr. Pacheco seconded to promote Peter J. Beatrice to Sergeant of the Raynham Police Officer effective March 1, 2011. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
All Board members welcomed the newly appointed Officers. All the Officers thanked the Board and Chief Donovan.
7:10pm - Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to recess for approximately five minutes. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
7:18pm - Mrs. Smith reconvened the meeting.
Mr. Buckner’s Town Administrator’s Report was reviewed.
Mr. McKinnon spoke of the recent article in the local newspaper regarding the Environmental Impact Study for the railroad being performed by the Army Corp of Engineers.
Correspondence – The Board received from Ms. Whalley copies of by-laws from other towns that prohibit the “storage of junk and debris.” Board members will review them.
Correspondence – The Board received from Mr. Stolte a request for an approval on the Park & Ground Chemical Award. Mr. Stolte recommended awarding the contract to Yukon Landscaping. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the award for Park & Ground Chemical to Yukon Landscaping. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
Correspondence – The Board received the following requests for Tag Days: MA Drifters Girls Softball for April 22, 2011; Neponset Valley Shrine Club for June 20 & 24, 2011; and Taunton Eastern Little League for April 29, May 2, June 13, 2011. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to approve the above listed Tag Days. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
7:32pm-Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mr. McKinnon seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards. Mrs. Smith made it unanimous.
