Board of Selectmen June 13, 2017
Chairman Karen Donahue called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Present were Joseph Pacheco and Karen Donahue
Acceptance of the Minutes
Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Donahue seconded to accept the minutes of the May 30, 2017 meeting as printed.
Department Heads & Committees
Chief Jim Januse was present to give his Activity Report for the month of May. Fires, fire incidents, mva investigations, and public assist were 77; Ambulance, medical emergencies mva’s and public assist were 151; Miscellaneous inspections, fire alarm work and items of note were 97; Mutual aid fire and ambulance 2 ambulance given, 1 ambulance received; 3 fire given, 1 fire received for a total of 7. ~There were a total of 1,132 calls for May, 2017 which is less than last year. ~~Chief Januse updated the Board on several employees who have been out on extended sick leave.
Town Administrator’s Report
Mr. Flaherty reviewed the Town Administrator’s Report. The vendors have been notified for painting and door replacement work to be done at the North School. Mr. Flaherty is still waiting for an additional bid for the plumbing work.
Mr. Flaherty has completed the Public Contracting Course.
The MA ADA Grant has been submitted and he is waiting for a response.
Mr. Flaherty has requested bids for the front door plate from 2 vendors and so far has had no returns.
The next Selectmen’s Meeting will be held on June 27th at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Pacheco made a motion to accept, and Mrs. Donahue seconded. The Selectmen will not meet on June 20th.
The Special Town Meeting will be held on June 27th at 7:00 p.m. in Town Hall.
The next scheduled North School meeting will be held on June 14th.
The next scheduled Department Head meeting will be held on June 15th.
Mrs. Donahue said the Jared Monti event was very well attended and thanked everyone who went.
Cheer Factor All Star Cheerleaders have requested the following Tag Days: July 20th, Aug 10th, Sept. 12th, Oct. 13th & Nov. 21st & 22nd. Mr. Pacheco made a motion to approve and Mrs. Donahue seconded.
A letter of interest was received from Thomas Ramondetta to fill a vacancy on the Zoning Board. Mr. Pacheco made a motion to forward the letter to the Zoning Board for their consideration, Mrs. Donahue seconded.
An Application for a License for Constable was received from David A. Dicenso, Mr. Pacheco made a motion to approve and Mrs. Donahue seconded.
A letter of change of a Liquor Manager was received from Chili’s.
A letter of resignation was received from Virginia Kelly from the Treasurer’s Office. Mr. Pacheco made a motion to accept with regret, Mrs. Donahue seconded. Mr. Pacheco suggested that it would be advantageous to get the position posted immediately.
7:07 p.m. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Donahue seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing of Bills and Warrants, with no business to be conducted afterwards.
