Board of Selectmen November 21, 2017
Karen Donahue called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present were Joseph Pacheco, Marie Smith and Karen Donahue.
Acceptance of the Minutes
Mr. Pacheco made a motion and Mrs. Smith seconded to accept the minutes of the Nov. 14th meeting as printed, Mrs. Donahue made it unanimous.
Town Administrator’s Report
Mr. Flaherty reviewed the Town Administrator’s Report.
The North School bathroom renovation is almost complete and Mr. Flaherty is still waiting for a painting contractor.
The Town’s new web site should be online soon.
Mr. Flaherty, as Acting Health Agent, has performed the pre-operational inspection for the 7 Eleven, and has followed up on Chapter II issues with a property in town, he has also attended an Emergency Preparedness meeting in Norton.
The next Selectmen’s meeting will be held on November 28th at 7:00 p.m.
The next Department Head meeting will be November 30th at 10:00 a.m.
Mrs. Smith wanted to know how much longer it will take before the bathroom in the North School is complete. Mr. Flaherty will get in touch with the contractor and report on the status of it at next week’s meeting. Mrs. Smith also has a new painting contractor to get an estimate from.
Mr. Pacheco wanted to congratulate the B-R Cheerleaders on winning the State Championship and is extending an invitation for them to come to one of the meetings.
Mrs. Smith wanted to thank everyone who came to the South School Open House on Saturday. There will be another event on November 30th, there will be an author to do a book signing.
The Board wanted to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
A Tag Day request was received from the Knights Hockey Complex for the following dates: Dec. 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th & 19th. Mr. Pacheco made a motion to approve, Mrs. Smith seconded and Mrs. Donahue made it unanimous.
A request was received for a proclamation from the American Indians Committee requesting the month of November be proclaimed as American Indian Heritage Month. Mr. Pacheco made a motion to approve, Mrs. Smith seconded and Mrs. Donahue made it unanimous.
An application for a liquor license was received from Occasions. Mr. Pacheco suggested a Public Hearing be set for December 5th at 7:00 p.m.
7:05 p.m. Mr. Pacheco motioned and Mrs. Smith seconded to adjourn for the performance of administrative duties, signing of Bills and Warrants with no business to be conducted afterwards. Mrs. Donahue made it unanimous.
