Mission Statement

The Treasurer/Collector department is responsible for managing the town’s cash, maintaining an optimal balance between cash safety and liquidity to pay the town’s bills while maximizing interest yield in a professional, efficient and effective manner.

It is the mission of the Treasurer/Collector’s office to provide the highest level of customer service and support to all of the Town’s constituencies (i.e. taxpayers, employees, retirees, or vendors), as well as satisfy the legal requirements set forth in Massachusetts general Laws and the Town’s bylaws. This mission is illustrated through the following activities:

  • Cash Management
  • Employee Group Benefit Programs
  • All Debt Management
  • Assists in the Administration of other Town Wide Functions

Billing:

The Treasurer/Collector department is responsible for the generation, distribution and collection of real estate tax, personal property tax, motor vehicle and boat excise tax. The department also collects sewer usage bills.
