Vacancies for Three Citizen Members of the Elderly and Disabled Taxation Aid Committee; Donations Encouraged

The Town of Raynham has three citizen openings for the Elderly and Disabled Taxation Aid Committee to be appointed by the Select Board. This taxation aid committee shall consist of the three citizens, Chair of the Board of Assessors, and the Town Treasurer. A recent Town Meeting adopted Chapter, 60, Section 3D which allows the Town to establish an Elderly and Disabled Taxation Aid Fund. This fund, financed solely from donations, will provide monies to defray the real estate taxes of elderly and disabled persons of low income. The purpose of the Elderly and Disabled Taxation Aid Committee will be to adopt rules and regulations regarding the fund, identify recipients of aid from the fund (assuming sufficient monies are available for this purpose), and identify ways that donations to the fund can be promoted and encouraged.

Candidates must be a registered voter in the Town and have an interest in contributing their time and expertise for the benefit of the Town and its residents. Interested candidates should provide a resume and letter of intent to the Select Board, 558 South Main Street, Raynham, MA 02767 or email [email protected]. Deadline to submit is Monday, July 20, 2026 at 4:00 PM or until such time at least three candidates have applied for the openings.

All citizens are strongly encouraged to consider donating to this fund. No matter how little you contribute, every bit helps provide badly-need tax relief for qualified elderly and disabled residents.  This fund is referenced on the property tax bills of residents. To make a donation, please make a check separate from your tax payments and send to the Town of Raynham, Voluntary Contribution: Office of the Collector, 558 South Main Street, Raynham, MA 02767.
