The Circulation Supervisor at the Raynham Public Library manages all aspects of daily operations in the Circulation Department including assigning/reviewing work, scheduling, training, and supervising five Library Assistants.
This position requires exceptional customer service skills and embraces the library’s values and mission. The ideal candidate possesses a desire to work in a public service role and the capacity to create a welcoming atmosphere. Excellent communication skills, patience, problem solving skills, and the ability to work with patrons and staff of varying ages and levels of expertise is required.
This is a 28-hour per week position with full time benefits (non-union). Rate of pay is $24.97/hr. Hours are Mon & Wed 10-3, Tues, Thurs, Fri 10-4, and includes a Saturday rotation every 3 weeks. Saturday hours are 10-4. This position reports to the Director.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of daily operations.
- Serve patrons at the Main Desk.
- Assist the public in the use of library resources, equipment, and facilities.
- Explain and enforce library policies, thorough knowledge of Circulation policies.
- Manage museum passes in Assabet.
- Fulfill ComCat requests.
- Attend to daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and the public.
- Display enthusiasm and a capacity to learn new skills, especially with regard to technology.
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, strong written communication skills, and the ability to work productively with frequent interruptions while balancing multiple projects.
- Troubleshoot equipment and technologies.
- Update website and social media (FB and IG).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three-five years library experience, preferably in a public library.
- Three-five years experience in the usage of library management software, WorkFlows preferred.
- Supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of library apps (Hoopla, Kanopy, Libby).
- Proficiency with computers and commonly used office software such as GSuite, and Microsoft Office. WordPress, Assabet, Canva, or LibraryAware are a plus.
