Notice Regarding Local Vaccine Distribution

Today, February 17, 2021, the Raynham Health Department was notified by the State of Massachusetts that effective March 1, 2021, local health departments will no longer be allocated 1st doses of COVID-19 vaccine. This announcement came unexpected and is problematic.

The notice states that vaccine will be distributed through State-run sites such as the locations set up at Gillette Stadium, Fenway Park, and others. Private companies including CVS and Walgreens pharmacies will also be receiving vaccine for distribution. Vaccination locations can be found by visiting the following website: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-vaccination-locations Residents can also call 211 for vaccine scheduling assistance.

The State has assured that 2nd doses of vaccine will be delivered to local health departments to vaccinate those who received 1st doses at local clinics. The Raynham Health Department understands the importance of hosting local vaccine clinics and continues to advocate for vaccine to be distributed locally. The Raynham Health Department will provide updates should there be any changes to the Massachusetts vaccination plan.
