In the absence of Chairman Joseph Pacheco, Vice Chairman Marie Smith called the special meeting of the Board to order at 11:04 a.m. in the municipal meeting room at Veterans’ Memorial Town Hall, 558 South Main Street. In addition to Vice Chairman Smith, Selectman Patricia Riley was in attendance. Chairman Pacheco was unable to attend due to a work commitment. Also in attendance was Selectmen’s Executive Assistant Deborah Dooney.

Mrs. Smith stated that there was only one agenda item scheduled for the meeting and that was a request for two one-day all-alcoholic liquor licenses requested by American Legion Post 405 at 291 Mill Street. Mrs. Dooney explained that the first license would be for August 17th for a Veterans’ fundraiser and the second license would be for September 15tth for an end-of-the-summer event for the American Legion Post. Both requests were for 12 noon to 6 p.m.

Ms. Riley made a motion to approve the request for both one-day licenses. Mrs. Smith offered a second to the motion. It was so voted with Mrs. Smith and Ms. Riley voting in the affirmative.

At 11:06 a.m., Ms. Riley made a motion to adjourn the meeting for the performance of administrative duties, signing of bills and warrants, with no business to be conducted afterward. Mrs. Smith seconded. It was so voted.
