Board of Selectmen                                                                                                                    May 6, 2019

 

In the absence of Chairman Joseph Pacheco, Vice Chairman Marie Smith called the special meeting of the Board to order at 9:39 a.m. in the meeting room at Veterans Memorial Town Hall, 558 South Main Street. In addition to Vice Chairman Smith, Selectman Patricia Riley and Interim Town Administrator Gordon Luciano were in attendance. Chairman Pacheco was unable to attend due to another commitment.

 

Mrs. Smith explained that there was only one agenda item for consideration and that was the Special Town Meeting Warrant for May 20, 2019. She stated that the warrant consists of four articles as follows:

 

Article 1: To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $130,000.00 from the Overlay Surplus Account to the Fire Department Personnel Expense Account to pay overtime incurred due to two firefighters out on extended line of duty injuries and two firefighters out on extended sick leave; or take any action thereto,

 

Article 2: To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $26,872.40 from Free Cash to the Fire Department Personnel Expense Account due to Lt. Jeff Wray retiring as of March 31, 2019; or take any action thereto.

 

Article 3: To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $28,463.69 from Free Cash to the Fire Department Personnel Expense Account to pay the second portion of Chief Januse's retirement payout; or take any action relative thereto.

 

Article 4: To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $30,000.00 from Free Cash to Legal Expenses; or take any action relative thereto. (Submitted by the Board of Selectmen)

 

Ms. Riley made a motion to post the notice for the Special Town Meeting, which will be held on May 20, 2019, beginning at 6:45 p.m. at the Raynham Middle School and which will include the four articles as read into the record by Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Smith seconded. It was so voted.

 

Ms. Riley made a motion to adjourn the special meeting at 9:41 a.m., with no other business to be conducted thereafter. Mrs. Smith seconded. It was so voted.
